The Typical 18 hole disc golf course averages around 3 miles, so you’ll be getting a great work out and it’s fun for the whole family. Never played disc golf before? Don’t worry, it’s easy to get started! Starter disc sets are now available to purchase online at Lewis & Clark and then you may want a few different ones after you get started. That’s it. Objective of the Game:
Disc Golf is played like traditional “ball” golf, but with disc golf discs instead of balls and clubs. One stroke is counted each time the disc is thrown and when a penalty is incurred. The goal is to play each hole in the fewest strokes possible.
Putt & Approach Discs:
Deep, slow discs intended to fly short distances in straight lines. Putter/Approach discs are extremely important to scoring well, for they’re more than likely used to make the final shot in a hole.
Midrange Discs:
A great starter disc, mid range discs fly straight and feel comfortable and natural in most people’s hands. They are also super helpful for navigating narrower fairways and landing approaches close to the basket.
Fairway Driver Discs:
Less distance potential than a distance driver, but a great choice for straight flights and short drives.
Distance Driver Discs:
These discs fly the furthest and also have the greatest speed. Distance drivers aren’t necessarily recommended for young or new players.
